Knickerbocker Mansion

Tree planting

The Knickerbocker Mansion was built in the 1780’s by Johannes and Elizabeth Knickerbocker.  Its architecture is a rare middle age style.  The Mansion presides over the remains of the historic Witenagenot Oak Tree which was planted in 1676 to commemorate a peace treaty between the Native Americans and European settlers.  The Mansion is open for tours from May-October on Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM, for special events and by appointment for group tours and authentic colonial Dutch meals.  The Mansion is listed on the National Historic Register.
